# Retail store movers

Every day a store is closed is a day without sales. We plan retail moves around your closing time so the doors open again as soon as possible.

## What we move for stores

- **Fixtures and shelving**: Gondolas, wall shelving, racks and counters, taken apart and rebuilt.
- **Stock**: Packed by department or SKU group so it can go straight back on the shelf.
- **Displays and signage**: Mannequins, glass cases and signs, wrapped and handled separately.
- **Back room and POS**: Storage room contents, point-of-sale terminals and safes.

## Mall and plaza rules

Shopping centres usually set move hours, loading-dock times and insurance paperwork for tenants. Ask the property manager for the tenant move rules as early as possible, and send them with your quote request.

During a renovation, fixtures and stock can wait in [storage](https://commercial-movers.ca/services/storage/) until the space is ready.

## Starting prices

| Item | Starting price |
|---|---|
| 3 movers with a 26 ft truck | from $150 per hour |
| 4 movers with a 26 ft truck | from $195 per hour |
| [Storage vault](https://commercial-movers.ca/services/storage/) | from $75 per vault per month |

Starting prices in CAD before tax, based on typical Toronto and GTA market rates. The final price depends on volume, floors and elevators, distance, timing and building rules, and is confirmed in your written quote.

Evening, overnight and weekend work: typically 20 to 40% above the weekday labour rate.

## Retail move questions

**Can you move a store overnight?**

Small stores often can. Larger ones move over two or three nights. See [after-hours moves](https://commercial-movers.ca/services/after-hours-moving/).

**Do you move between malls in different cities?**

Yes. See [long-distance moves](https://commercial-movers.ca/services/long-distance-moving/).
