There is no single price for a business move, but there are clear patterns. Here is how movers in Canada price commercial work and what changes the total.
How movers price business moves
By the hour
A crew and a truck at an hourly rate, usually with a minimum number of hours. Common for small and local moves.
Fixed quote
One price for a defined scope, set after a walkthrough. Common for mid-size and large offices.
Per workstation or per square foot
Used to estimate larger office moves before the full walkthrough.
Extras
Crate rental, storage, furniture installation, disposal fees and after-hours time are often listed as separate lines.

What changes the total
Volume
Number of workstations, files and equipment. A walkthrough or a good inventory is the best way to pin it down.
Access
Floors, elevator size and booking times, dock access and the distance from the truck to the door.
Timing
Evening, overnight, weekend and month-end moves cost more than a weekday.
Distance
Local moves are hourly; moves to another city add travel time and fuel.
Special items
Servers, safes, medical equipment, artwork and large boardroom tables.
